Hopeless reactionaries was rhetorical. There are of course progressive
elements in poststructuralism but I wanted to emphasize the problems
and so resorted to a bit of hyperbole.
I'll try to think up some more on this and cite a specific examples of the
discussion that's gone on over how Marxists or Marxians might respond to
postmodernism or Late Capitalism. These tend to be enormously involved,
convoluted and drawn out. Nothing ever gets settled and no one expects
it. That's the hell of postmodernism. But maybe I can find something short
and pithy (not likely) to augment my earlier post. But anyway thanks for
taking an interest.
