Check out the 1950 film Battleground with Van Johnson, Ricardo Montalban, 
James Whitmore, etc.  There's a great movie for ya--includes a great scene 
of Germans dressed as Americans fobbing thmselves off as baseball 
enthusiasts (in the Ardennes)--I believe the catch that got the Germans was 
the term "Texas Leaguer"
