   céline's use of ellipses as a recurrent punctation was essentially inspired 
   by riding the subway (- the paris metro, that was). roaring urban 
   dispersal ...

ps: that subway-riding is still aesthetically inspiring, can be seen in some 
hiphop videos. recently, for example, in "da draußen" by "fettes brot".
