Well, bowl me over with a feather on that one!  I've read five different
translations of the _Divina Commedia_ over the years (sorry, not in the
original, though) and never caught THAT!  Always thought the emergence
from Hell to Purgatory by the two poets via Satan was purely external
(albeit they had to grapple in his shaggy coat, along his
hindquarters).  Interesting take on that.
