Hi, there's been some debate back and forth about TRP being Catholic or
Protestant - is there any direct evidence of his being raised Catholic?
It's somewhat unusual for a family with roots in the the early days
(practically DAR don't you know) to have become catholic - Oyster Bay is
pretty WASPy too -

Someone said his mum was Catholic, did she make Pynch Sr convert?

I'm just curious, I've always read him as extremely protestant i.e.,
Episcopal.  (who, as the joke has it, are more catholic than the Catholics
in terms of the mass)
