*Muggle* is an imaginary word that always gave me a feeling somewhere
between 'moron', 'ugly', 'mug' (to mug, ape), and 'struggle'. A pretty
hopeless list, but fitting for Rowling's normal people.

>>Another effect was that I bought the first Harry Potter-book (the English
paperback is fairly cheap at the moment) and here's my question for today:
I asked a neighborhood child how *muggles* has been translated and in fact
it hasn't. In the German text it's *muggles* too. Does the word implies some
stupidness to the native speaker, from mug - fool, easily deceived person,
as my dic gives one explanantion? Then, to the German speaking members,
wouldn't be *Dussel* an appropriate translation?
