"In 'Reinardus' an osseous violin is called 'ossea ut dominus Blicero', by which
there can be meant nothing else but Death, may that name the pale one [- den
bleichen] or the one that is showing his teeth [- den bleckenden], or, what I'd
prefer, be it the name Blidger, Blicker with only an indication of those terms.
Here an osseous horsehead is given to the wolf, as the one who is experienced in
funny games (jokulandi gnarus), mockingly in addition to the violin, bony and
pale like a skeleton."
(jacob grimm: deutsche mythologie, chapter 27, m.o.p.a.t.)
... blicero had grown on, into another animal ... a werewolf ... we read on 486
... enormous strenght, blood-thirsty wildness are attributed to the werewolf ...
qualities too precious to leave them to a fictional figure ... so we, after
having finished the novel for another time, can take back our projections & -
following bly's method of "shadow-eating" - actively imagine weissmann standing
in front of us, black vibes radiating from his wild heart, --- i go closer and,
now, feel his breath like dew on my cheeks ..., then i greet him with a nod and
say eventually: "i want my werewolf back. give it to me!" --- all of sudden
there's a smile on his face, his eyes flicker in rilkean yearning, and then
...
kfl, hoowwwling ...
