... okay, so we've got the "squat robot ... shaped something like a
crab.  'That's Cancer in Latin,' sez the robot" (V645/B781); Pluto "held
tight in the claws" of Leni's sign (V415/B484); "Broderick and Nalline's
shadow-child ... who was born with hydraulic clamps for hands"
(V677/B    ); and NOW I see Bloat offering Slothrop a crab to feed
Grigori the octopus ("'It's hungry, it'll go for the crab,'" "Oh, that
was no 'found' crab" [V186-8/B216-9]).   What IS up with all the crabs,
all the Cancer(s) in Gravity's Rainbow?  But it's interesting what you
come up with simply flipping pages--it's just that kind of book, is all
...
