Again, to me it's Both AND, when I read it, and I'm sure for
many familiar with such Eastern European chatter, I'm
convinced that just as P makes use of the stereotypically
familiar, the Baedekering of his sets, his landscapes, these
impersonations are shot full of dreams and other epi/onto
fluidities and combined with allusions to history, biography
and so on,  Spain and Portugal, Victoria, Egypt....Disraeli
