NEW YORK (AP) -- Hours after he conceded, Al Gore celebrated the end of
the neverending election, dancing up a storm with friends and
celebrities in the vice president's Washington mansion.

The party, which ended at 3 a.m. Thursday, got a boost from rock stars
Tom Petty, Jon Bon Jovi and Stevie Wonder, who played through the night,
the Daily News and New York Times reported Friday.

Shedding his buttoned-up image, Gore drank beer with Petty and Bon Jovi
and took off his jacket and stomped and gyrated on a packed dance floor
as his wife, Tipper, hammered away on the drums.

He also high-fived some of the 200 party-goers, who included Rob Reiner,
Wyclef Jean and Naomi Campbell.

The gathering began on a somber note, but Bon Jovi decided to spice it
up about midnight by inviting his friends, the Daily News reported.
