Schoenmaker's assistant, Trench, is also described as a "juvenile
delinquent" at 45.8; and after the "faceless delinquent" throws a rock at
Esther's bus at 96.1, "cries in Spanish ascended to it out of the darkness."
Wonder if this delinquent is Tolito, José or Kook from Profane's subway ride
before? A rather half-hearted attempt at connecting the episodes together as
a novel perhaps? -- Various variations on the theme of "delinquency" do seem
to be coming through, at least in this early part of the novel, however.
