Good point, Otto. Perhaps "bloodthirsty" might have been a better 
word choice.  But isn't it possible to imagine some "human" (maybe 
you mean "humane"?) ways of waging war?  Let the two national leaders 
duke it out, maybe, and leave the innocent bystanders out of it? Or 
perhaps economic sanctions applied in a manner that hurts the ruling 
elite without hurting babies and children and the rest of us? 
Non-violent tactics that can force a change of policy and the 
creation of new conditions of social justice?  Of course this doesn't 
work, I guess,  if "war" necessarily implies killing and destruction.
