mutter away, me fellow droog, I'll be nearby muttering, too. Pynchon whether 
from contract pressure or needing the dough, probably wrote LOT 49 and 
Vineland.  With the Macarthur grant and good investment and now married to 
Ms. Jackson, he's no longer under any such pressure. Surely, M&D is a bit 
too solemn for a coda for a man who has aged well, hmm?
So I get up every morning wondering if I will glimpse the out line of the 
advancing wings of the savior, Dame Mothra...;)
