i'm quite new to the list and heard about david foster wallace
here for the first time.
in the german-speaking area he is unknown. most likely
because none of his books have been translated into german
so far.
so what i was going to ask:
does anyone know about translations in the making? i suppose
it takes quite some time to translate 'infinite jest' and that
not everybody can works as fast as nikolaus stingl who translated
'm&d' in two years (it would have taken longer, if he tried to
translate the book into 18th-century german - i think of wieland
and his 'geschichte des agathon'- instead of writing in 19th-century
style which makes 'm&d's german version far more easier to read
than the original).
anyone know of wallace-translations???
