All I remember is the Lone Ranger was once a Texas Ranger. At one point
he is ambushed by a bunch of bad guys (not Indians) and Tonto saves him.
Tonto becomes his helper in rounding up the bad guys and once that's done
decides to stay on.
Think there's a reference to it in Weisenburger.
