Tom Robbins -- _Even Cowgirls etc....

Does anyone else take Pynchon's blurbs with a grain of salt?  His wife is
an agent.  He better be giving blurbs for her authors.  Jim Dodge, Phil
Patton, just to name a couple.  Anyone know any more?  I'm not suggesting
he is some sort of literary whore, but I just question the source of his
enthusiasm (not to take anything away from any of the authors).
