Karin and I were disturbed... It was like a 24 hour global Olympic
Opening Ceremony. Another one of *thewse* coming up this summer?
Mercy.
Opened a bottle of Piper (cheers!) and settled in for a nice warm
marathon of "The Singing Detective" after a day of tag-team child
wrangling and painting upstairs. Alternate choice: the great "Twelve
Monkeys". Enjoyed one another's company. At twelve-oh-two imprecisely
a child began to parade up and down the street blowing one of those
long red plastic horns sold at sporting events, bleat mournfully into
the cold clear air a single repetitive tone. It sounded like a shofar,
and we thought, with some glee: the trump of doom!
Happy New Year all!
Mark
