Pynchon and the News

I have sort of a online tickler file at work which captures mention of Mr. P 
in the news--I get an average of one hit a day, 99% of which is just that, a 
mention.  I wonder why the man get so much in the way of name-dropping.  
strange, no?

P.S.  Had a dream that i was reading something new by our man and it had 
icons ala Finnegans Wake or Dictionary of the Khazars, most notably I 
remember the reoccurence of a red ship. whatever...
