The traditional attire of Hermes , the messenger of Gods . Winged helmet
, and winged sandals. Messenger . The Trystero connection ? 
A Thief also , a Rake , Stealing for Apollo ( the God Of Kirghiz Light?)
a fine herd of cows . And from the cow-gut he constructed not
Tchitcherine' boots but an ingenious musical toy ( hints of harp ? ).
Hermes the Psychopompos . The guide of souls to the outer Zone .
And as David notices :" All this happens inside the root shelter amid
the earthy smells.  Roots have a magic power in GR.
The magic of Circe defeated with the root molly that Hermes gives to
Ulysses.
And ..and Hermes flies like a rocket in the sky.
