Hi, I'm Jeremy and I'll be your host for the next month of discussion
(insert appropriate emoticon here). The official GRGR schedule as
prepared by s~Z is, GRGR(18) starts January 15 and runs for 2 weeks,
covering pp. 383 - 408, i.e. from the Argentine anarchists episode to
the middle of the Franz and Ilse episode; GRGR(19) starts January 31 and
runs for 2 weeks, covering the rest of the Pökler episode, up to p. 433.
I want to assert my droite du host and make GRGR(18) last one week and
cover the three short episodes from p. 383 to p. 397, and have GRGR (19)
be a big 3-week section devoted to Herr Pökler and his travails. Just
cause I like having the GRGR sections and the episode boundaries match
up. So that's how I'm going to be posting the notes and so forth.
In the notes, I will refer to the submarine section as "episode 1", the
hashish section as "episode 2", the movie studio section as "episode 3",
and the Zwölfkinder section as "episode 4". Hope this does not cause any
confusion. I will post the episode 4 notes in 3 sections over the three
weeks of GRGR(19): pp. 397 - 409, pp. 409 - 421, pp. 421 - 433.
By the way, (first drafts of) all my "host" posts for the GRGR(18) and
(19) are archived at http://www.readin.com/books/rainbow/grgr18/ --
that's where I've been storing them as I compose them; which composition
is naturally still ongoing.
