The article reprints Pynchon's blurb for Emily Barton's novel _The
Testament of Yves Gundron_ in the context of the novel's selection as a
selection for the paper's reading club. The article's author (and SF Chron
Book Review editor), David Kipen,  calls the novel "funny and sexy, with
echoes not only of Garcia Marquez, but of Nabokov, Pynchon (who bestowed a
blurb) and, of all things, _Star Trek_."
