Strength???

Mondaugen's law (from memory): Personal density is directly proportional to
temporal bandwidth.

This IMO is Pynchon's direct challenge to the whole Be Here Now mentality.
The greater your perception of the past (history) and the future (realistic
possibilities) the more effectual (responsible?) you can be in the present.
 Slothrop's ability to engage declines with his density.  To be natural
here is to drop out of human society, he becomes a nature spirit, a myth,
and like all myths fragments into various versions, tools of those who
propagate them.  

that's what this weavercreature reckons anyway...
