Along with Batman and Superman, Wonder Woman it's one of the big three
longest running comics. By the other side it's the only female character
being published continously since its creation more half a century ago.
Wonder Woman was created in 1941 by Charles Moulton, pen name of
psychologist William Moulton Marston. But paradoxically, the first contact
that Marston had with the comix was through criticism. Marston was a
professor at Columbia University and the author of such essays like
"Integrative Psychology: A Study of Unit response", "The Art of Marriage",
"Obey That Impulse", "Take Your Profits From Defeats" and above them all
"The Lie Detector Test". In fact, Marston was responsible for the creation
of the polygraph, better known as the lie detector. With a great knowledge
of psychodynamics and sexual behaviors, Marston made out of Wonder Woman one
of the biggest pop culture symbols of feminism, liberation, and such topics
as the women domination by man and, bondage and discipline.
