Every witticism deserves a lecture...

Jbor, after demonstrating that Regan was flawed frail and human just like
the rest of us and could be said to have sold out.:
>Reagan was democratically elected (twice?), was never found to have
>transgressed the law or the US Constitution in any way. So you tell me where
>the blame should lie.

Blame? Blame?? What's that got to do with politics? "Should" is a pretty
irresponsible concept too.

It was the second part of the original statement I was scorning. There are
people who sell out: who rise to positions of influence by fact of their
commitment to some set of principles, then flip over to the opposition for
mercenary reasons. Reagan wasn't one of them. All of us FFH's are a
bundle of tendencies, from fearful to brave, from revolutionary to
reactionary. The tendencies we express are what's important and what
define our political orientation. And when I say -express - I don't mean
verbally, opinions count for nothing without action to give them substance.

The We R They attitude is simply defeatist. All we sinners damned, damned,
thrice damned...

Like TP says "The Man has an agent in each of our brains..."
Doesn't mean we have to dance their tune, does it? even if most of us have
to pay the percentage.
