Yo Dude,
                 I wasn't sure of Melanie Jackson's editorial capabilities.  
Actually she was the author's agent.  He also had an editor provided by Simon 
& Schuster.  On p. 724 Ron Chernow acknowledges her as follows:

                 "My agent, Melanie Jackson, is the sort writers dream of but 
seldom find.  She has been a Rock of Gibraltar in support, a prodigiously 
hard worker, and a joy to work with.  The book would not have appeared 
without her."

                 A minor quibble.
