My understanding of GNI was, it was a suicide note. Where do you get the murder
angle?

Irene goodnight
Irene goodnight
Goodnight Irene, goodnight Irene,
I'll see you in my dreams
Sometimes I live in the country
Sometimes I live in town
Sometimes I take a great notion
To jump in the river and drown
Irene goodnight usw
Stop rambling, stop your gambling
Stop staying out late at night
Stay home with your wife and family
And sit by the fire bright
Irene goodnight usw

of those who believe themselves already to be
standing in the light of the world, triumphant.
