Hope The Negro is appreciating all the attention he's getting here.

I'm tempted to refer it all to my good friend who happens to be both a
Pynchon fan and an African American. Many years ago he confided (actullly
complained) to me that he'd never met another of his ethnicity who'd read
Pynchon. I told him the same was true for me. This was obviously before
I'd come upon the p-list. Oh sure lots of people know the name. But it
ends up they're confusing him with someone else.
