It was MY ROOM, and it is of unknown shape.  Its walls are soft and 
tunnel-like, but there are many doors, opening into other and then other 
tunnels.  All these tunnels might also be followed without using these 
door-short-cuts.  But one never knows, unless a knife is used to slice 
through the whole shebang.

I think either Pynchon or I never left that room....
