Interesting. I thought of few more instances of the suffix -ola.
In the entertainment industry there is moviola (film editing
equipment) and of course payola--the thing Dick Haymes was accused of
taking when he sang Frank McHugh's song in order to bring it to Vivian
Blaine's attention in "State Fair" (1945) Sounds like a word Walter
Winchell might have invented. He loved cute insinuating expressions.
