The Pudding-Melville connection is reprised in M&D in the line crossing
ceremony, re: "Spotted Dick" thrown in Cherrycoke's face, along with some
submerged references to early atomic theory (Rutherford's? "Raisin Pudding"
model of the atom), finally superceded by quantum theory- which has turned
out to be some really WEIRD shit.
