Seth Godin, founder of Yoyodyne and a best-selling
author, will release his latest book in digital form
for free. The idea is that people who like it will
probably go out and buy a copy. But that is in the near
term. In the long term, Godin thinks all e-books will be
free: "My feeling is that e-books are going to be free. There are
just going to be too many of them. And when you look at the model,
you realize e-books have more in common with Internet sites than
with traditional books."
