Speaking of this summit, perhaps it's the stuff of urban legend but 
apparently Vlad. Putin mentioned the need for these jolly fatherly types to
stay in touch with one another, about this and that I guess, and suggested
email. Of the 8 delegates only one other (the Japanese guy) knew how to send
an email message. Now, what was it we were saying about the "merit" of
patriarchy, bridge-making, technological backwardness, and popular culture?
