black man to various yellow men really undermines the
argument that color is the "real" criterion. How did the
U.S.  manage to convince people that the yellow man was a
shiftless darky, then to distrust the inscrutable china man,
then the Jap, then, the Rusky, then.... so on and so
on.......fascinating story of racist stereotypes,
discrimination, propaganda, Spawned in part, as Pynchon
