Here's UTNE WEB WATCH DAILY's take on the article linked above:

Web Hosting Off the Grid
Mark Dwortzan, Environmental
News Network

After selling his e-commerce business last year, Marc Overman, a
steadfast enthusiast of renewable energy, looked to the sun for
inspiration, writes Mark Dwortzan for the Environmental News Network.
"Photovoltaic technology had vastly improved in the past decade, he
noted, yet few people recognized its potential. It was high time for
someone to find a compelling way to get the word out. The result was
the world's first and only solar-powered web hosting service,
SolarHost.com." Since March, the start-up has offered high-end Web
site hosting, design, maintenance and programming at competitive
prices - all while operating entirely off the grid. SolarHost's
high-density solar panels convert sunlight to electricity for its
computer servers and facility. A battery bank stores excess power to
keep things running during the night, on rainy days, and in times of
technical difficulty."
