The Katzenjammer Kids appeared only in the Hearst papers I think. If
one's household subscribed to whatever was the local rival paper (L.A.
Times in my case) there would be a very similar strip called "Captain
and the Kids. One of those cases where the original artist quits and
goes off somewhere else to to essentially the same work.
