Greta takes us on a tour of her "soul," if she has one, which is a question 
They would like you to consider...  "She has more identities than she knows 
what to do with:"

1.  Her roles are of super-heroes and the super-natural, shocking visions a 
la the movie "Metropolis."

2.  Greta is the Cowgirl in "Sandwuste von Neumexiko," on the  back of 
Snake.  They are fabulous!

3.  Next Greta is speaking directly to Slothrop, dropping a veil.  Salome?  
This passage returns us briefly to the "present" aboard the Anubis.  She 
recalls cuddling up to a corpse in the streets of Berlin, having crept out 
while Slothrop snoozed.  The corpse tells Greta many things.

4.  Greta is next the "dizzy debutante Lotte Lustig" film-artificially 
floating down the river in a bathtub along with Max, AKA Slothrop on board 
the Anubis.

5.  Greta is then, has always been, Bianca, Greta's projection,  like 
Gottfried is Blicero's projection.

6.  Greta next is the gypsie-tableaux of Max's lashes.  This is a come-on to 
Slothrop.

7.  Next Greta tells Slothrop of her near-encounter with what I'll call the 
Final Predator, in the woods, and then also in Blicero's Wolf-incarnation:

Blicero has crossed the boundary into "mythical regions."

Myth and film are very closely related in GR.  "The Wizard of OZ" and "Star 
Wars" are prime examples.  Thus Greta and Blicero share a common domain, the 
mythical.  Greta is ecstatic to be taken over Blicero's Rainbow into the 
Castle:  "Great curtains of styrene or vinyl, in all colors, opaque and 
transparent, hung row after row from overhead.  They flared like the 
northern lights." (487.34)

It is here that she is immersed into the baptism of Impolex...  which 
resonates deep into her "soul."

Greta has been taken here by Blicero, for this very purpose, at this very 
special time, for the Rocket.  This is her Star Performance:  she is the 
Bride/Mother of Frankenstein (the Rocket).  By her special gift Blicero has 
invoked the Great Predator.
