Hi all--

Check out the most recent issue of The NYRB, which has an article about
Boris Slutsky, Russian poet--his views on history, stalin, the great
patriotic war, etc. left this reader with a distinctly pynchonian
sensibility. His newly posthomously translated book is called "Things That
Happen"

"It's different dramas that occupy me:
dramas without a gram of greatness,
uttered by an unprepossessing man
who's not been given a leading role,
who's treated his pain with vodka,
and is
no tsar,no god: he'sn othing special.
No thousand-candle-power lightboard,
but a three-rubletablelamp;
no first-night audience, but a wife
to listen to hislong-drawn-out lament,
tragic,comic,and strange all at once.
A wife, a wife, and no-one else."
