As far as I know the war of 1914-1918 was called the Great War at the time
and for quite some time afterwards. Only long after the outbreak of the war
of 1939-1945 got that one named a WW, and the 2nd one at that, which turned
the Great War into #1 retroactively. Welcome to the bazaar of Novi Pazar:
