First, happy wishes for Mr Pynchon on this his birthday.

Two, there are a few copies for sale of the Pynchon issue of the OK City U 
Law Review at the Gotham Book Mart, 47th St b/w 5th and 6th Avenues. Say hi 
to the big tom cat, buy a gorey t-shirt, you know the drill...

Third, a fine story that encapsulates many of Pynchon's themes, is Robert 
Coover's "The Phantom of the Movie Palace"--what is real, how is it that 
what's behind that screen or in the bowels of the old vic is so terrifying 
to us, and who is that lady who we seach for and ultimately lose from every 
frame. Surely, we all end up drowned or beneath her blade.

Fourth, Music from Rocket State:  "An Index of Metals"--Fripp and Eno
