Klemperer on V-weapons

I have just finished reading Victor Klemperer's war-time diaries, a most 
fascinating, un-putdownable pair of books. (For those who don't know of 
him, he was a by-blood Jewish newspaperman-professor, married to a 
non-Jewish wife in Dresden, who not only managed to survive through the 
entire Third Reich in Dresden but also kept the most observant and 
perceptive diary. He made it his mission to record what everyday life was 
like for Germans in general and Jews in particular, to listen carefully 
to the corrupt and imperialistic language, and to generally "bear 
witness.") 

On June 28, 1944, he writes: "The dynamite meteors are now called, since 
Monday, V-1 explosive devices; it is being explained at great length: 
Vergeltung -- retribution--number 1, means that a V-2, etc., can be 
expected with certainty."


and he goes to mention reports of these devices, the V-1 and V-2 and 
rumours of a V3, too, several times more ...
