RV: Postmodernism

even though I´m (almost) a communication scientist I´m not quite sure what
posmodernism is, but the thing that comes after modernism.
And Modernity is the responsible of all the disasters mentioned here, from
political to ecological (yes, the ozone layer).
And this is what M&D is about, what Capt Zhang is talking about: Draw a
straight line and you wound the dragon of the earth, then don´t cry if
disgrace comes.
Modernity is the loss of the sacred space, Nature ends being "holy", is
something that you, Human Being, Top-of-the-Evolutionary-Stair (even before
Darwin), must subjugate, conquer and exploit, because You are the Master,
the Owner of the Earth.
The trees are in the way of your Visto? Chop them down!
This mountain blocks the train? Bury a tunnel?
The whale has oil? Kill them!

And that thinking leads to racism (not to xenophobia, that is older and more
"natural"): if the Humans are the pinacle of creation, them some Humans must
be higher than others, and, of course!, the ones that are higher are White,
Anglosaxon, Protestants and if British the better (sorry, I didn´t say that,
that was the belief in XIX century).

[i´m getting in swampy areas cos i don´t have here the bibliography to quote
right. i think it is in stephen jay gould´s "mismeasurement of man" but not
quite sure]

Posmodernity (maybe not the same as posmodernism) is the idiot son of
Modernity, no more, no less.

Or something like that.

Don´t take me seriously. There are too many implicits I can´t write for lack
of time and english skill.
