Some Volker Hummel sez (in a recent issue of the German webzine
TELEPOLIS www.heise.de/tp/deutsch/inhalt/buch/8138/1.html) when 
reviewing the German translation of _The Intuitionist_ by Colson 
Whitehead that the novel does to elevators what _TCoL49_ does to 
postal service. Is that right? Haven't read it. (There is a link 
to the 01/99 Salon interview of CW which is interesting indeed.)
