You missed it. But thanks! And thank you Thomas! No Mumford. That's right, 
but maybe, just maybe that Mumford book is worth reading. And maybe religion 
is  important to his fiction, maybe as important in V. as enfetishment as  
history? Maybe his admiration for the Herero religion has to do with 
opposites in sustained tension and maybe it has something to do with 
Catholicism? Maybe.
