(26.14) (inanimate objects could do what they wanted. Not what they wanted
because things do not want; only men. but things do what they do, and that
is why Profane was pissing at the sun.)
----------
It seems from this text that Profane was jealous of Inanimate Objects (IO),
because of their volition: They _do_ what they _do_. But of course to be
inanimate is to NOT (consciously) DO!
With Profane it seems that the division between himself and the world around
him is _Self V. Inanimate_. But he is the self-acknowledged "Yo-Yo,"
animated by another's volition. He may be projecting his own powerlessness
onto the world around him, hoping to retain the illusion of his own
volition.
Also note that the lack of "want" implies an extra power granted to IO's.
Will being gone, Fate has no opponent. This would put IO's at the
convergence of Fate & Will.
A companion in this section with Profane's alienation with the world is
"snow." It is continually the setting for Profane's accidentally turning
the corner into a totally inanimate world, a setting of complete solitude
and melancholy for Profane. His perception then is of solitude within an
inanimate cosmos. This ironically makes him GOD! But his attempts at
Omnipotence fall flat, whether pissing out the sun or directing the world
from above. He only wakes up later snow-covered and sniffling. So much for
solipsism.
