Fascinating stories that didn't get through to Europe too.
Alpha Centauri, our closest neighboring star gone into a black hole, South
Carolina disappeared and I must admit never having heard of Molbania.
Strange media-days indeed...

three stars in the system, the dimmest -- called Proxima Centauri -- is
actually the nearest star. The bright stars Alpha Centauri A and B form a
close binary as they are separated by only 23 times the Earth- Sun
distance."

on May 26 it was still there.
