All I have done thus far is provide a few notes from the
first lecture--"Genral Characteristics of Jewish Mysticism."
The most important lecture to GR is the second
lecture--"Merkabah Mysticism and Jewish Gnosticism."
There are more references to religion in V. than there are
pages in the book. This is true of all of TRP's books.
Catholicism is one of the religions we want to get at in
this novel. The novel opens, Christmas Eve....Benny
Profane, lets say his first name is Jewish--Benny, has a
catholic last name--Profane/aka Benny
Sfacimento("decay")--picaro/parody.
Do catholics eat the actual body and blood of jesus christ
or is it just a symbolic thing? They actually eat the god,
don't they?
