... now, that yo-yo going up and down, Benny Profane yo-yoing crosstown
and back again, imagine a point on a sine wave, on a wave function tracing
simple harmonic motion. The y(!)-coordinate is bounded by two extremes
(i.e., the amplitude of the wave, apocheir and pericheir, whatever), but
traverses nevertheless the continuum of those oft-excluded middles, even
as the wave function, simple harmonic motion, whatever, progresses (or
reverses, for that matter, in that Newtonian idealization, at least) along
that x-axis, perhaps in time, yo-yoing indeed up and down the y(!)-axis on
that Cartesian (!--tres mechanistique, perhaps even cybernetique)
