The Association of Progressive Communications network of servers canvassed
for a slate of candidates chosen from community/social activists in the
computer world. I quote...

Andy Mueller-Maguhn, in an area the APC expected to lose, gained 5,000+
votes, the other APC candidate 2,000+ and the first of the rest 900. A
surprise challenge I think. Next time there is an ICANN election (next
year?) it will all be much higher profile and more closely fought.

The first global election???
