Hokay, finally found that "persistence of vision" ref., in the Harper
Whatever eds., p. 32, i.e., V. I.V or whatever (guessing that's p. 38 of
the Bantam ed., then?). Guess is wasn't really all that impertive to
pursue here after all, but I did get a quick refresher on some cinema
studie stuff, so ... but, yeah, reading that as Jose's "forearms and
hands vibrating" too quickly, with too great a frequency, to register as
continuous motion to even that cinematic sampling rate. But reminds me

Three paragraphs above, top o' the Harper page, Profane "yo-yoing"

unubermensch ...

And p. 23 (I.iv), "Rodgers and Hammerstein in 3/4 time," thinking "My
Favorite Things" here, it'd have been nigh unto impossible not to see
The Sound of Music ca. the time TRP would have been writing V., no?
But, also, John Coltrane, and, hence, by association, McClintic Sphere,
though the latter seems more a Theolonius Monk figure, on which, do see
...

Well, just a little housecleaning for today, is all ...
