Ivory is a symbol of what in the novel V.? Hint, Not piano
keys.

Anyway, What's so cool about the character McClinic Sphere?
If Pynchon set out to honor Coleman, Monk, does he succeed?
How?

Certainly not with a stupid slogan, Keep cool blah, blah,
blah, such a stereotype, such a slogan. Like the dude with
yellow eyes and pinpoints Why would Pynchon name his
character after his heroes? Maybe the character got his
name, his persona from Monk-- Sphere and as I remember,
calling yourself McClinic was like saying I'll teach the
rest of you sorry assholes how to play. The people in the
audience that say that he's hitting the notes Bird
missed...blah blah are full of white noise. Ah, just my
cyclical perspective, just now.

On my copy of The Intuitionist there is no Blurp from Mr.
Pynchon, he is mentioned on the back, in a blurb from SF
Chronicle.

Joy to the world
the teacher 's dead
we barbecued her head
what happened to her body?
we flushed down the potty
and round and round it goes
and round and round it goes
and rouuuohhhhhowwwowwwwoundwound it goes.
